The Short Version

As of this week, every mood on WorkMusic plays entirely new music. Not tweaked. Not remastered. Replaced — with a library of real compositions created by frontier AI music models and curated by human ears.

We think it's about 100x better. We're not being modest about this one, because you'll hear it in the first five seconds.

What Actually Changed

Since launch, WorkMusic generated its sound live in your browser with a synthesizer engine — oscillators, filtered noise, slow chords. It was clever engineering. It was not great music.

The new library is different. Each of our 27 moods now has its own set of full studio-quality tracks, composed by state-of-the-art music generation models and rendered at high fidelity. Midnight Bakery actually sounds like warm ovens at 3am. Rainy Jazz Café has a real piano, a walking bass, and rain on the glass. The Iron Choir has the cathedral it always deserved.

Your player shuffles each mood's tracks and crossfades between them, so a session flows as one continuous environment — no gaps, no jarring transitions, no "new song?" moments.

Built for Lock-In, Not Just Listening

We taste-tested every mood against one question: can you crank out solid work to this?

That led to a few rules the whole library follows:

• Full presence from the first seconds. No long, sparse intros. Press play, the environment is there.
• One steady energy, start to finish. No builds, no drops, no track that turns into a different track halfway through.
• Gentle, constant motion. Many moods now carry a soft, steady pulse — enough momentum to lock into, never enough to grab your attention.
• No lyrics. Ever.

Back in June we wrote that the future of work music isn't "AI writes a song while you work" — it's "the room sounds right for the work you're doing." This library is that idea, shipped.

The Interface Didn't Change

Still one big play button. Still full-screen moods. Still the space bar. The upgrade is entirely in what you hear, not in what you have to manage.

What's Next

The library is not finished — it's now alive. We'll be adding more tracks per mood, and soon you'll be able to vote on tracks while you work, so the library literally tunes itself to what helps people focus. The best focus music, chosen by people focusing.

Is the music really AI-generated?

Yes — composed by leading music generation models, then curated track by track by humans. Anything that didn't pass the "can you work to this?" test didn't ship.

Will tracks repeat?

Each mood has multiple tracks that shuffle and crossfade, and the library grows over time. Sessions feel continuous, not looped.

Did the app get more complicated?

No. One play button, 27 moods, zero settings. That's the point.
